Reason for Listening:
New release. Checked if Charli xcx had any new releases. She did!
Apparently this album was created for the movie of the same name, Wuthering Heights (2026). It also occurred to me today that the "XCX" is no longer caps but lowercase. Apparently she made this change in the release of BRAT.*
Released 20260213.
12 songs. 34:34. Wuthering Heights (2026)

*There I had it as "Charli XCX" and so I changed it to "Charli xcx."

First listen.
Second listen.

Third listen.
3: "Dying for You";
2: "Always Everywhere"; "Out of Myself"; "Seeing Things";
1: "Wall of Sound"; "Chains of Love"; "Open up";
0: "House" (ft. John Cale); "Altars"; "Eyes of the World" (ft. Sky Ferreira); "My Reminder"; "Funny Mouth";
Summary:
Overall, the album is different from BRAT. Despite learning the album is a soundtrack album, I still wanted more pop-sounding tracks. The album does have some of these, but it also had a mix of slow and/or darker sounding tracks. As such, the overall album for me is just a moderate 4.0. I think the album is solid for listening as a whole, but not quite my style or mood.
So I thought "Dying for You" was perhaps my favorite song on the album. As such I gave it a final listening for this blog post. It occurred to me that the initial words in the track give the song a "Video Killed the Radio Star" vibe. While it doesn't show up on WhoSampled.com, three other Reddit users also commented that the song reminded them of the song.
Overall Rating: 4.0/5
Favorite Song: "Dying for You"
