I watched this film several times as a kid. I haven't seen it as an adult, but I still remember the songs and overall story.

First listen. standard.
Haha. I love that line. "Maria, makes me laugh."
It occurs to me I don't know most of the adjectives. ["A flibbertijibbit! A will-o'-the wisp! A clown!"]
Listened to "Maria" again. Not sure if it's ironic, but it is sung "I even heard her singing in the abbey."
Charmian Carr as the character Liesl sings "Sixteen Going on Seventeen." However, the actress was 22 when the film released. Of course, this kind of age difference is not unexpected, being common in film and on screen media.
This is a great song. It is slightly strange that it's become a holiday classic. ("My Favorite Things")
I love the second part of this song. I've definitely passed time by trying to remember it on a countless number of occasions (both "So Do La Fa Mi Do Re | So Do La Ti Do Re Do" and "Do Mi Mi | Mi So So | Re Fa Fa | La Ti Ti" though the former is easier since words get attached to them - "When you know...")
Around tracks 10 to 12, I read the "Historical accuracy" section on the film's Wikipedia page. In a way it was interesting to read the true story. But it never occurred to me that the movie contained so many critical differences.

3: "Maria"; "My Favorite Things"; "Do-Re-Mi"; "Edelweiss";
2: "Prelude and The Sound of Music"; "I Have Confidence"; "The Sound of Music"; "So Long, Farewell"; "Climb Ev'ry Mountain"; "Something Good";
1: "Overture and Preludium (Dixit Dominus)"*; "The Lone Goatherd"; "Processional And Maria"; "Climb Ev'ry Mountain (Reprise)";
0: "Morning Hymn and Alleluia"*; "Sixteen Going on Seventeen";
Note: The track listing on the Wikipedia page doesn't consider the words "prelude," "overture," and "preludium" as being part of track titles. But I wouldn't trust that track listing, because not the same as the Spotify track listing - same as a the track listing shown for a physical audio CD version of the album being sold on Amazon.

Summary:
While I assigned song ratings which range from "0" to "3", I feel as if I just about like all the songs equally. One surprise to me was that the song "Do-Re-Mi" has such as break in it (due to the spoken portion of the track).

Choosing a favorite track was not easy. However, I was mainly torn between "Maria" and "My Favorite Things". Ultimately I went with "My Favorite Things", but I feel as though I can relate with the greater abstract theme of "Maria".

Overall Rating: 5.0/5
Favorite Song: "My Favorite Things"
