Summary:
Many of the times where I liked a particular song more than another were heavily influenced by my viewing of the 2020 film. It's not clear to me what I would have thought of many of these tracks if I had never seen the film (or if I had first seen the musical performed live). In other words, some of the songs have added emotion attached with the story and performance itself. In addition, another reason I may like certain songs more is if they were capable of being listened to independently of the musical. As a whole, the full album experience is great for reliving the musical, but it's such a long experience that it would make sense for me just to listen to my favorite tracks in isolation.
