Summary:
As I listened, I couldn't help but feel less of a Latin sound compared to artists who may primarily release Latin-based albums. With that being said, I like thinking of it as a Spanish-inspired album with a Selena Gomez sound. In other words, the production has a tendency to capture the general sound of Gomez's music, e.g., Rare, as opposed to fully embracing the sounds of Latin music. It should be noted, however, that this is neither good or bad. Rather, it is an observation which may be good or bad depending on the listener and what the listener is listening for. For example, my favorite track on the album is "Selfish Love" which has a couple of English words and has a great beat. Furthermore, apart from the Spanish lyrics, the sound of that particular track is hardly Latin - the saxophone gives it a strong Jazz sound.
