Carly Rae Jepsen - Dedicated (2019)

Reason for Listening:
A friend told me about a Carly Rae track he/she was listening to on repeat. The song was from Dedicated Side B, but I had yet to listen to "Dedicated."
Oddly, this is the first Carly Rae Jepson album I've listened to.

First listen.
Initially I didn't like this song but as it went on, I found I really enjoyed the beat ("Automatically in Love").

1: "No Drug Like Me"; "The Sound"; "Automatically in Love"; "Feels Right" (ft. Electric Guest); "Real Love";

-1: "I'll Be Your Girl";

Summary:
Before today, I had 147 scrobblers for Carly Rae Jepsen dominated by 74 scrobbles for "Call Me Maybe," 10 scrobbles for across various remixes of it, and 45 scrobbles for "I Really Like You."* Perhaps by chance, of the remaining 18 scrobbles, 6 are for "Run Away with Me." In any case, listening to this album today, I was surprised by the extremely different tone of the album compared to the two songs I was familiar with. While the album didn't have many songs with high ratings, it felt extremely cohesive in it's tone.

In any case, I found it interesting that of the three songs which I rated a "2" or higher, two of them are on her Spotify top 10 most popular songs. Furthermore, of those two, the one which I gave a "3" is ranked 6 and the one which I gave a "2" is ranked 10.

Overall Rating (Standard): 4.0/5
Overall Rating (Deluxe): 4.2/5
Favorite Song: "Party for One"

*I have 28 scrobbles for "Good Time" (by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen) but on Last.fm this track somehow doesn't show up on the Carly Rae Jepsen summary page - especially odd because it was part of her second studio album, Kiss.
