Festival Plan: It would be a treat to see Buddy Guy. I'm putting this performance high on my list of shows to watch.

While I infrequently listen to blues, I definitely enjoy it. In particular, I have enjoyed Buddy Guy's work from time to time.

2) Five Long Years (Eddie Boyd cover) [E2] -- the guitarist comes in for a solo; near the end of the song or so, Budy Guy jokes "I didn't write the song."
3) I Just Want to Make Love to You / Purple Haze (Willie Dixon, Jimi Hendrix cover) [E2] -- the first time he got to "I Just Want..." he paused and the audience cleanly completed it; he transitions to the opening measure of Purple Haze with a couple of bars; I recognized the tune, but didn't recall that it was "Purple Haze" until after the show
4) Crazy 'Bout You / Chicken Heads [E2]
5) (I'm Your) Hoochie Coochie Man (Willie Dixon cover)* [E2] -- during this song, he paused before "son of a gun" and the response (unlike with "I Just Want to Make Love to You") was weak. at that point, he begins telling the audience (the back-up guitarists are still playing) that he was just in Tokyo where they were able to complete it and we just fucked it up. he continues saying he expects better now that he's home. he has the crowd try again.
6) Love Her with a Feeling -- I have no doubt that he sang this song, but I don't know where he played it. I distinctly remember him singing both "she kinda big and fat | and what I like about that woman | she kinda good like that" and "one leg in the east | one leg in the west | I'm right down the middle | trying to do my best"

9) Who's Making Love (Johnnie Taylor cover)
10) Sweet Sixteen (B.B. King cover) -- I wasn't able to catch the lyrics on this one...

12) Sister's Milking the Bull (Incomplete) -- "Sister went to milk, but she didn't know how. She grabbed a bull, instead of a cow. Mama, mama, come here quick. Sister milking the bull by the **pauses**."
13) Boom Boom (John Lee Hooker cover)
-- tells a story. part of the story involves not knowing what muddy water meant, cause he drank the creek water, eventually the story leads up to the next song:

Post-Festival Thoughts:
Luckily for me, the choice to see Buddy Guy over Lenny Kravitz, Nothing But Thieves, and Grouplove was easy. Unfortunately, I occasionally felt out of place because there were people around me in the crowd who knew a lot of the songs which Buddy Guy performed. With that being said, at least I brought a strong appreciation for the music.
Overall, it was awesome seeing Buddy Guy perform. Not only is he an amazing musician, but he also an amazing entertainer. "Shit." Buddy has showmanship.
Among all the shows I saw on Friday, I'm leaning towards saying Buddy Guy's was the best.
On a different note, I was especially surprised that I was able to walk right up to a spot in the second row before the show started.
I remember asking myself, "Why isn't anybody here?" and I had to double-check that I was at the right stage. Honestly, Buddy Guy was about to perform!
