Various Artists - BottleRock 2016 - Pre-Festival Notes

While I've made an effort to listen to festival music in the past prior to attending, I've never made a dedicated blog post on it. Having done a solid job of listening last year for Firefly 2015,* I decided to go ahead and start a post for BottleRock Napa Valley 2016.

As a heads up, it's rare for me to fully enjoy a song on the first listen, so I'll most certainly have a bias towards songs which I've heard before.

On a different note, I will attempt to make this post so that it can be parsed. I will be encapsulating ratings for excellent songs in braces,** placing comments in brackets, and separating songs with semi-colons.

*I may or may not go back to my Pre-Festival Firefly 2015 notes and post them as well.
**Historically if I liked a song a lot then I gave it a '+' and songs with 2 or more '+'s are considered 'Excellent.' That idea is adapted here.

20191223 Comment:
In the case that I saw an artist perform, I will make a link to the post containing the pre-festival, festival, and post-festival notes.

Red Hot Chili Peppers
Excellent: Under the Bridge {2}; Snow (Hey Oh) {2};
Above Average: Can't Stop; Otherside; Scar Tissue;
Slightly Above Average: Police Helicopter; Around the World;
On the Fence: Factory of Faith; Nobody Weird Like Me; Blood Sugar Sex Magik; Dani California; By the Way [Not a fan of the verses];

Overall: I vaguely remember the Red Hot Chili Peppers live at Firefly 2013 and the experience was underwhelming, though in part because I was underprepared and hadn't listened to most of their music.

Stevie Wonder
Pre-Festival Notes, Festival Notes (Most of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall: Having only ever heard a couple of top hits, a lot of Stevie Wonder's music is a different style than I'm used to and made for a difficult first-time listen.

Florence + The Machine
Pre-Festival Notes, Festival Notes (Most of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall: I remember seeing a bit of Florence + The Machine many years ago, at Bonnaroo if I remember correctly. I also remember wearing Vibram FiveFingers. In any case, the lead singer Florence Welch has such an amazing voice that I just let the music flow through my mind without any attention to the lyrics.
Festival Plan: My favorite song by Florence + The Machine is "My Boy Builds Coffins," but there is no sign of it on recent setlists (setlist.fm).

The Lumineers
Pre-Festival Notes, Festival Notes (All of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall: For the most part I enjoy The Lumineer's music and they're a great band to watch as well.

Death Cab for Cutie
Pre-Festival Notes, Festival Notes (All of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall: Death Cab for Cutie has some of the best songs I've ever heard. In particular, I like how the band's songs tend to tell stories and veer away from a definite verse-chorus structure. Perhaps I appreciate it, because I personally enjoy telling stories in my own music.
Festival Plan: I'm definitely going to see Death Cab for Cutie. In fact, they're the main reason I'm looking forward to this festival.

Lenny Kravitz
Excellent: Fly Away {2};
Above Average: American Woman [a classic, especially when it comes to karaoke]; It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over; Are You Gonna Go My Way [some sick guitar riffs];
Slightly Above Average: Frankenstein; Dancin' Til Dawn';
On the Fence: Always on the Run [hmm... perhaps he repeats "my mama said..." too many times]; I Belong to You [*]; Let Love Rule;
Slightly Below Average: Sister [kind of not paying attention, might relisten]; Believe [kind of not paying attention, might relisten]

Overall: Lenny Kravitz has some popular hits, but I'm not exactly feeling most of it.
Festival Plan: I'd probably opt to watch most of Buddy Guy's performance. Grouplove is also a tempting option.

*I was recently thinking about the word "belong" in the context of the phrases "I belong to you" and "you belong to me" and began to dive into the asymmetry of the two phrases. The former works well as a way of professing one's love and to me is equivalent to "I'm yours" (which is a great song: "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz). In contrast, the latter - with no prior context - leans towards a possessive and feeling of ownership.

Walk the Moon
Pre-Festival Notes, Festival Notes (All of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall/Festival Plan: Even though I managed to see them last year at Firefly 2015, Walk the Moon has such a great selection of music and such a great vibe that I just have to see them again.

Rodrigo Y Gabriela
Pre-Festival Notes, Festival Notes (All of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall: This duo has such a great sound. Loving it.
Festival Plan: This duo is high on my priority list.

Ziggy Marley
Excellent: True To Myself (live) {4}; True To Myself {5};
Above Average: Reggae In My Head (live); Sunshine; I Don't Wanna Live on Mars;
Slightly Above Average: Be Free; Wild And Free (live); Love is My Religion; Moving Forward;
On the Fence: Forward To Love (live); Personal Revolution (live); Look Who's Dancin'; Changes (live); Rastaman Vibration (live);
Slightly Below Average: Conscious Party; Fly Rasta; Justice;

Overall: From what I can tell, I mainly enjoy songs with a more mainstream sound.
Festival Plan: Unfortunately, I will be watching all of Death Cab for Cutie's act.

Grouplove
Excellent: Tongue Tied {2}; Ways To Go {2};
Above Average: Itchin' On A Photograph; Lovely Cup {2} [nice lyrics, nice riff]; Spun; Colours; Let Me In [hmm... maybe excellent, I like it more than Colours]; Naked Kids;
Slightly Above Average: I'm With You; Raspberry; Don't Say Oh Well; Shark Attack; Schoolboy; Cruel and Beautiful World;
On the Fence: Borderlines And Aliens; Close Your Eyes and Count to Ten; No Drama Queen;
Slightly Below Average: Beans On Pizza - Bonus Track;

Overall: Grouplove definitely has some popular hits that I've heard and enjoy. I would not, however, necessarily be pressed to see them perform. If I recall, I've seen them perform a couple of songs before, I'd have to check.

Michael Franti & Spearhead
Pre-Festival Notes, Festival Notes (Some of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall: Wow, for the most part I dig the sound and would rank this band highly on my list of artists to listen and see.

Gogol Bordello
Excellent: Start Wearing Purple {2}; American Wedding {2};
Above Average: Wonderlust King; Pala Tute; Alcohol; Baro Foro;
Slightly Above Average: Sally [interesting combination of instruments]; Avenue B; Oh No; 60 Revolutions; Mishto; Santa Marinella; Undestructable; My Companjera;
On the Fence: Immigrant Punk; Think Locally, Fuck Globally; Underdog World Strike;
Slightly Below Average: Not A Crime [actually, not bad, but not in the mood and first time listening];
Below Average: Dogs Were Barking; Illumanation;

Overall: While the band is different and not bad, I'd place them lower on the to-see list. In slightly different words, I like some of their songs, but not enough to see them perform. I should note that most of the songs I like either have a punk sound or sound like Rammstein; while I don't listen to metal, I listened to a little Rammstein in high school by recommendation. Actually, I don't know, the use of violin and accordion are awesome and I could imagine how the band would have a strong amount of energy so that might be a good reason to see them.

Cold War Kids
Pre-Festival Notes, Festival Notes (Technically All of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall: Hmm... Solid band. Apparently they toured with Death Cab for Cutie at one point. Not sure what that implies though.

Iration
Above Average: Reelin; Midnight; Time Bomb;
Slightly Above Average: Wait and See; Burn; Summer Nights; Lost and Found; Back Around; Falling;
On the Fence: Turn Around; Automatic [maybe sounds like Summer Nights]; Hotting Up;
Slightly Below Average: Uptown;

Overall: One of the more mellow bands in the lineup. Sometimes repetitive lyrics. Low on list, especially due to genre.

MisterWives
Pre-Festival Notes, Festival Notes (All of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall: At first the sound reminded me a bit of Echosmith. Later the vocal and overall sound reminded me more of Florence + The Machine. I suppose it depended on the song.

Atlas Genius
Excellent: Trojans {2};
Above Average: Back Seat; Centred On You; Molecules;
Slightly Above Average: The City We Grow; Where I Belong;
On the Fence: Stockholm; Symptoms; A Perfect End; The Stone Mill; Electric;
Slightly Below Average: If So;

Overall: Hmm. I don't, from a first listen, have a strong attraction to the music.
Festival Plan: They played Trojans as a finisher in a recent playlist. In the case that I don't wait to be close to the front for Florence + the Machine, I could try catching the end of Atlas Genius's act.

Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness
Pre-Festival Notes, Festival Notes (All of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall: Andrew McMahon is a great artist and I'd be happy to see him perform. However, having seen him perform last year, I would be willing to miss his performance to see a different artist/band of similar liking.

Buddy Guy
Pre-Festival Notes, Festival Notes (All of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall: While I don't follow much blues, I definitely enjoy Buddy Guy's music. It would be a treat to see. I'd put this act high on my list of shows to watch.

Andy Grammer
Pre-Festival Notes, Festival Notes (All of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall: Andy Grammer's music tends to have a lot of energy behind it and it definitely gets my feet going.

Houndmouth
Above Average: Black Gold; Say It;
Slightly Above Average: 15 Years; Darlin'; Honey Slider; Hey Rose; For No One;
On the Fence: Halfway to Hardinsburg; Palmyra; Comin' Round Again [has such a slow first half]; Penitentiary; Sedona; My Cousin Greg;

Overall: While their music was pleasing, none of it particularly jumped out at me. Though I wouldn't be surprised if their live performance packs more of a punch than their album recordings.

The Pharcyde
Above Average: Oh Shit; Devil Music; She Said; Passin' Me By;
Slightly Above Average: Drop; Hey You; Soul Flower - Remix; Pack The Pipe; Runnin';
On the Fence: Ya Mama; 4 Better Or 4 Worse [hmm... strange middle section];

Overall: Like Houndmouth, The Pharcyde has solid tracks, but none of the songs stood out.
Festival Plan: Regardless, I will be seeing Walk the Moon

The Struts
Pre-Festival Notes, Festival Notes (All of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall: This band's not bad. I could imagine how some songs could become pretty enjoyable after several listens.

The Joy Formidable
Above Average: Maw Maw Song; Cradle; The Everchanging Spectrum of a Lie;
Slightly Above Average: The Greatest Light Is The Greatest Shade; Whirring [hard rock]; The Leopard and the Lung;
On the Fence: Little Blimp; This Ladder Is Ours; Wolf's Law; The Last Thing on My Mind; Liana;
Slightly Below Average: Running Hands with the Night;

Overall: I'm not a fan of the grungier sound. Someone who enjoys the more distorted rock sound would.* Note that there's less of an emphasis on lyrics and a bit more towards the instrumental.

*Note that I enjoy The White Stripes. But there's something artistically different that I'm not quite sure of.

Shovels & Rope
Above Average: Gasoline; Mary Ann & One Eyed Dan; Save The World;
Slightly Above Average: Keeper; Tickin' Bomb; Fish Assassin; Evil;
On the Fence: Birmingham; Swimmin' Time; Stono River Blues; Shank Hill St.; Boxcar;
Slightly Below Average: Bridge on Fire; The Devil Is All Around; O' Be Joyful; Hail Hail;
Below Average: Cavalier;

Overall: I was hoping to immediately like this group the way I did with Falls. Unfortunately, their sound was completely different and not quite what I enjoy.

X Ambassadors
Pre-Festival Notes, Festival Notes (Some of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall: Now this is more my type of music. X Ambassadors > Shovels & Rope and X Ambassadors > The Joy Formidable.

The Orwells
Above Average: Gotta Get Down; Southern Comfort [nice riff];
Slightly Above Average: Who Needs You; Dirty Sheets; In My Bed; Mallrats (La La La);
On the Fence: Let It Burn;
Slightly Below Average: The Righteous One;

Overall: For the most part, I dig their sound.
Festival Plan: Chances are, however, that I should just take it easy and go from Buddy Guy or Grouplove straight to Stevie Wonder.

Coleman Hell
Above Average: Sitcom; Heat of the Night; 2 Heads [apparently the strange sounding instrument is a (MIDI) banjo]; After Hours;
Slightly Above Average: Fireproof; Thumbalina; Fortress;
On the Fence: Take Me Up; Venezuela;

Overall: So far, Coleman Hell is possibly the best new sound (artist I have heard for the first time) combined with his place down in the lineup (newer and/or less popular).

Ozomatli
Excellent: After Party {3};
Above Average: La Gallina; Chango; Paleta; Caballito; Can't Stop;
Slightly Above Average: Elysian Persuasion; Ya Viene El Sol; Nadas Por Free; Como Ves;
On the Fence: Saturday Night; Tus Ojos; Cumbia De Los Muertos; La Temperatura;

Overall: While I really like the beat and music, I would ideally want to look up the lyrics (for translation) before going to see them.

Jamestown Revival
Above Average: Fur Coat Blues; California (Cast Iron Soul); Wandering Man; Heavy Heart; Medicine;
Slightly Above Average: Revival; Time Is Gone;
On the Fence: Golden Age; Truth; Headhunters; Home;

Overall: At this point, I'm not sure what would distinguish this bands sound from some other bands that have come before them. But maybe I'm just saying that because I'm less into this sound.

The Suffers
Above Average: Gwan;
Slightly Above Average: Make Some Room; Stay; Dutch; Giver; Peanuts;
On the Fence: Midtown;

Overall: Oh nice, it's been a couple of artists past since a female vocalist. In any case, the soul music is distinctly different from anything else. Depending on where it falls along the schedule, I'd consider checking the performance out.

Kaleo
Excellent: All the Pretty Girls {2} ["Won't you lay me... won't you lay me down..."]; No Good {2} [Awesome guitar riff. Really pulled me in]
Above Average: none
Slightly Above Average: Way Down We Go;
On the Fence: I Can't Go On Without You; Vor i Vaglaskogi [sounds much different from the other tracks, *]

Overall: This is rock music!

*Apparently Kaleo is an Icelandic indie pop / rock / folk / blues band and "Vor í vaglaskógi" brought them to fame [Wikipedia.org]

Langhorne Slim & The Law
Excellent: Sea Of Love ((& Jill Andrews)) {2};
Above Average: Airplane [*]; Wolves; Changes; Past Lives;
Slightly Above Average: Put It Together; Love Crimes; Bring You My Love; Song for Sid;
On the Fence: Spirit Moves; The Way We Move; Life's a Bell; Colette ((LS)); I Will ((LS));
Slightly Below Average: Cinderella ((LS));

Overall: While I liked Langhorne Slim's voice, the music as a whole was not particularly catching. I did, however, enjoy Sea of Love by him and Jill Andrews.

*I guess I like certain types of voices, because I liked the vocalist's voice as I heard it.

Monophonics
Above Average: There's a Riot Going On;
Slightly Above Average: Promises; Find My Way Back Home; Hanging On; Holding Back Your Love; Bang Bang;
On the Fence: Sure is Funky;

Overall: Good music. I'll have to listen to more after the festival.
Festival Plan: They're playing at the same time as Death Cab for Cutie. While I could technically catch the beginning of their act, it will be more relaxing to just stay at the Jam Cellars Stage after Walk the Moon.

The White Panda
Excellent: Save Dat One for Me (Lil Dicky ft Fetty Wap // Great Good Fine Ok) {2}; Say No Diggity (ODESZA // Blackstreet) {2}; Seven Nation Army (White Panda Remix) ((The White Stripes)) {2}; Firefly [*] {3};
Above Average: Shut Up and Dance (White Panda Remix) ((WALK THE MOON)); Seven Nation Army (White Panda Reboot) ((The White Stripes));
Slightly Above Average: Pony Lasts Forever (Ginuwine // Feki);

Overall: I probably skipped out on seeing them during both Firefly 2014 and Firefly 2015.

*Ellie Goulding - Anything Could Happen // Kendrick Lamar - F*ckin Problems // Red Hot Chili Peppers - Snow (Hey Oh) // Lumineers - Ho Hey

San Fermin
Jackrabbit
Excellent: Emily {2};
Above Average: The Woods; Parasites;
Slightly Above Average: Ladies Mary; Astronaut [has a nice guitar in the background]; Philosopher; Reckoning; Two Scenes;
On the Fence: Jackrabbit; Woman in Red; Cave; The Glory;

Overall: I haven't heard this album as much as their first album, but it sounds pretty solid.
Festival Plan: No!!! They play during Walk the Moon. It's unfortunate, because they're such a good band, but I like Walk the Moon that much more.

Alina Baraz
Urban Flora EP*
Above Average: Make You Feel; Can I [**]; Fantasy [**];
Slightly Above Average: Maybe; Unless; Show Me [**]
On the Fence: Pretty Thoughts; Drift [**]; Unfold [**]

Overall:** This music is soothing, great for relaxing or slow-dancing. If I had better prepared (i.e., listened to each artist one to two times), then I would probably have went to see Alina Baraz between Death Cab for Cutie and Florence + The Machine.

*Collaboration with Galimatias.
**Post-Festival

Nothing But Thieves
Nothing but Thieves
Above Average: Wake Up Call; If I Get High; Hostage; Lover, Please Stay; Hanging;
Slightly Above Average: Excuse Me; Ban All the Music; Graveyard Whistling; Tempt You (Evocatio); Neon Brothers;
On the Fence: Itch; Trip Switch; Drawing Pins; Honey Whiskey;
Slightly Below Average: Painkiller; Six Billion [**]

Overall/Festival Plan: They have a decent sound, but I'd definitely go see Buddy Guy or Grouplove instead.

**Post-Festival

Pimps of Joytime
Above Average: Keep That Music Playin'; Janxta Funk! [**]; Dance Cardia (feat. Rubblebucket) [**];
Slightly Above Average: Dank Janky; Heart is Wild; Street Sound; Bonita [**];
On the Body: Body Party [**]; My Gold [**];

Overall:** Hmm. In hindsight, I probably should have gone to see a little of Pimps of Joytime and boogie on down. It would have been fun.

**Post-Festival

Particle
Transformations Live for The People
Above Average: Eye of the Storm - Live;

Overall: After listening to Eye of the Storm, I decided that the band has a good sound, but I needed to accelerate band comparison and made a decision not to see them perform.
Festival Plan: I liked the vibe of the 21 minute recording Eye of the Storm, and it would probably be fun to attend their show, but I'll probably be in more of a mood to spend my time at less dance intensive acts.

The Score
Excellent: On and On {2}
Above Average: Oh My Love;
Slightly Above Average: Livin Right;
On the Fence: Where Do You Run; Something New; White Iverson; Up;

Overall: This pop duo had a decent sound. I would, however, probably not see them.

Fantastic Negrito
Fantastic Negrito Deluxe EP + 3 Singles
Above Average: An Honest Man; Fever;
Slightly Above Average: The Time Has Come; A Long Long Road; Nobody Makes Money;
On the Fence: She Don't Cry No More; A New Beginning; Working Poor;
Slightly Below Average: Lost in the Crowd [lyrics at start sung at a syllable per beat got either annoying or boring]; Night Has Turned to Day;

Overall: I don't think I'd go to watch this band. There was too much variability in what I enjoyed off a first listen.

Mike Stud
Pre-Festival Notes, Festival Notes (All of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall: I like most of Mike Stud's beats and lyrics.

Son Little
Above Average: O Mother; The River; About a Flood;
Slightly Above Average: Alice; Lay Down;
On the Fence: Joy; Loser Blues; Cross My Heart; Your Love Will Blow Me Away When My Heart Aches; Carbon;

Overall: For the most part, I found Son Little's music to be average. Nothing particularly exciting for me here.

SOAK
Excellent: I Can't Make You Love Me;
Above Average: Blud; B a noBody; Immigrant Song;
Slightly Above Average: 24 Windowed House; Garden; Wait; Hailstones Don't Hurt; Reckless Behaviour; Oh Brother;
On the Fence: Sea Creatures;

Overall: SOAK has a solid sound.
Festival Plan: I would like to go see SOAK.

Until the Ribbon Breaks
A Lesson Unlearnt
Above Average: Until the Ribbon Breaks;
Slightly Above Average: Orca; Goldfish;
On the Fence: The Other Ones (Intro)
Slightly Below Average: Revolution Indifference;
Below Average: Persia; Pressure;

Overall: I wasn't a fan of Until the Ribbon Breaks's sound.

Black Pistol Fire
Above Average: Hard Luck; Run Rabbit Run; Drop the Needle;
Slightly Above Average: Crows Feet; Hipster Shakes; Suffocation Blues; Cold Sun;
On the Fence: Beelzebub; Bad Blood;

Overall: The simplicity of their sound best reminds me of The White Stripes.
Festival Plan: It's actually a pretty tough choice between seeing Cold War Kids and Black Pistol Fire when it comes to quality music, but I'll go see Cold War Kids due to familiarity.

New Beat Fund
Sponge Fingerz
Excellent: Bako Dozo {2};
Above Average: It's Cool; Sikka Takin' the Hard Way; Telescope; Helena;
Slightly Above Average: Any Day; Halloween Birthdaze; Hi Mom; No Type;
On the Fence: Why So Mean?; Let It Go; Sunday Funday; Friendz in High Placez;
Slightly Below Average: Scare Me;

Overall: For the most part I like this band's music. It's probably a good balance between sounding mainstream and having a sound of their own.

WATERS [all post-festival]
What's Real
Above Average: Got to My Head; Stupid Games;
Slightly Above Average: Mom & Dads; What's Real; Breakdown; Over It;
On the Fence: I Feel Everything; The Avenue; Inside My Room; Rebel Yell; Green Eyes;

Overall: This band had a cookie-cutter sound.

Deap Vally [all post-festival]
Above Average: Raw Material; End of the World;
Slightly Above Average: Bad for My Body; Baby I Can Hell; Gonna Make My Own Money; Walk of Shame;

Overall: While they have a good sound, there's a deal of repetition within songs. While this is, for the general public, probably goes unnoticed, it is something I pick up on readily.

Jamie N Commons [all post-festival]
Excellent: Low Life - Acoustic {2} [in part I simply like this 'cause its acoustic, *]; Jungle (Remix) (X Ambassadors, Jamie N Commons, JAY Z);
Above Average: Caroline - Early Demo; Let's Do It Til We Get It Right;
Slightly Above Average: Lead Me Home; Worth Your While; Marathon; Not Gonna Break Me; Where There's A Will There's A Way;

Overall: Jamie N Commons's music is right on the border of music which I enjoy a lot. Perhaps I would consider listening to some select tracks, but not his entire set.

*I suddenly remembered that X Ambassadors performed this song with Jamie N Commons at the festival. As it turns out, "Low Life" is an X Ambassadors song.

Greg Holden [all post-festival]
Chase the Sun
Excellent: Boys in the Street {2} [thematically excellent]; The Next Life {2};
Above Average: Hold On Tight; Free Again;
Slightly Above Average: Saving Yourself; Go Chase the Sun; It'll All Come Out; I Won't Forget;
On the Fence: Give It Away;
Slightly Below Average: Bulletproof; A Wonderful World;

Overall: Greg Holden has some solid songs.

White Sea

Bird Dog

machineheart
Festival Notes (All of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Overall: I look forward to the band's future album releases.
Festival Plan: During last minute preparations I used the 30-second Top 10 Spotify previews via the BottleRock app and machineheart was one of those bands that made me think to myself, "Oh, I'm definitely gonna go check that out."

Secret Weapons

Rose's Pawn Shop

Ivan & Alyosha

The Moth & The Flame

Moonalice

X Alfonso

Taxes [all post-festival]
It Never Ends (2014)
Slightly Above Average: Mulholland Drive; A Quiet Life;
On the Fence: Your Other Left; Thoroughbred; Kali;
Slightly Below Average: Mid-Season Replacement; Lost at Sea;

Overall: I neither like the sound nor the lead singer's voice

Happy Fangs

Panic is Perfect
Festival Notes (All of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes

Diego's Umbrella

La Misa Negra

Guardian Ghost

Strangers You Know

Heartwatch
Festival Notes (All of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes
Festival Plan: Definitely gonna check this group out.

Royal Jelly Jive

The Helmets

Anadel
Overall: Hmm. Didn't have time to really hear (while playing Heroes of the Storm).
Festival Plan: With that being said, I'll probably go listen to Bey Paulie Band.

Bey Paule Band [all post-festival]
Festival Notes (Possibly Most of the Performance), Post-Festival Notes

Silverado Pickups

Grass Child Gypsy
Festival Notes (Some of the Performance)

The Deadlies
The Deadlies (2014)
Excellent: Less is More {2};
Above Average: Pink Champagne [reminds me of The Who's My Generation]; Toad; She Likes Fast Cars;
Slightly Above Average: Pairs; Make You Mine;
On the Fence: Hippie Groove; Midnite; Punkin';
Slightly Below Average: Mayhem;
Overall: The album had a more traditional rock sound, like from the 70s. Looking into it, various sites describe their music as surf punk or surf rock.

The Iron Heart

Olivia O' Brien

92 South

Napa Valley Youth Symphony

K.Flay
Festival Plan: Death Cab for Cutie plays at the same time.
