Reason for Listening:
#59 on the Billboard 200 (Week of 20201205). From the top. Holiday.
Last Week: 30 | Peak: 30 | Weeks on Chart: 2
Having heard so many holiday albums in 2019, the next holiday down the list on the Billboard 200 sits at number 59, thirty slots below Pentatonix's The Best of Pentatonix Christmas. This was a reversal from last week: this album debuted at spot number 30 and The Best of Pentatonix Christmas was at number 45.
Released 20201113.

First listen.
Holy crap. This song is just all over the place (in a bad way). I suppose, if it was done in one take, there's quite some talent in their ability to switch it up. But I don't really care for listening to such display of talent. They might as well be screaming the song, because that's the level of noise that occurs when they switch it up and do the song so quickly. ("12 Days of Christmas")
Second listen.
Spotify to a Bing Crosby recording of "White Christmas" which features Pentatonix. But Wikipedia refers to the Pentatonix version of "White Christmas" which appeared on the A Pentatonix Christmas album. [I did some research and the track listing on the back of the CD release says "White Christmas with Bing Crosby & The London Symphony Orchestra".
This song isn't all over the place like "12 Days of Christmas," but it does suffer from some sort of tendency to sing quickly. ("We Need a Little Christmas")
3: "Once Upon A December";
2: "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"; "My Favorite Things"; "Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)"; "Santa Tell Me"; "Seasons of Love";
1: "Jingle Bell Pop"; "When You Wish Upon A Star"; "White Christmas" (ft. The Manhattan Transfer)
0: "Thank You"; "Happy Holiday / The Holiday Season";
-1: "We Need a Little Christmas";
-2: "12 Days of Christmas";
Summary:
For the most part, I'm more than happy to listen to other recordings of most of these songs. As for their original song, "Thank You," I didn't take much interest. Ultimately, the only song I found noteworthy was their cover of "Once Upon a December."
Overall Rating: 2.0/5
Favorite Song: "Once Upon a December"
