I didn't realize it prior to listen to this album, but Burl Ive's voice is absolutely perfect for all these holiday songs. Perhaps it's the familiarity of his voice via the television special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (narrated by Burl Ives). I know the album should have a rating greater than a 5.0, but I'm not sure exactly how high. For now I'll assign it a 5.4.

On the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer soundtrack (1964), I rated "A Holly Jolly Christmas" a "4" and "Silver and Gold" a "3" (I also rated "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" a "3"). Here I rated the two songs in reverse.

Overall Rating: 5.4/5
Favorite Song: "Silver and Gold"
