George Michael and Wham! - Last Christmas: The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (2019)

Reason for Listening:
#55 on the Billboard 200 (Week of 20191123). I've been listening to the various holiday albums on the charts and started listening to this one because I thought it was also a holiday album. Despite being the soundtrack to the romantic comedy Last Christmas (2019) set during the Christmas season, the only holiday song it contains is "Last Christmas" by Wham! - the song which the movie is based on.

I stumbled onto this album by accident (see above) and I haven't seen the movie, Last Christmas. On a different note, I wasn't familiar with George Michael's work - whether as part of Wham! or as a solo artist. In particular, the only song I associate with either George Michael or Wham! is "Wake Me up Before You Go-Go." With that being said, I had recognized a handful of other songs while listening to the album - namely "Last Christmas," "Faith," and "Everything She Wants."

Summary:
For the most part, I didn't like this soundtrack because I was unfamiliar with George Michael's music and the style of music compiled had little overlap with the type of music I enjoy. I initially thought about giving the album a 2.8 but later decided to give it a 2.4 because I was so split on the tracks (7 songs with a "-1" or "0" and 6 songs with a "2" or "3").

Although I like the song "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go," to mark it as my favorite here somehow doesn't seem appropriate. I can't pinpoint the reason. On a different note, I like "Last Christmas" about as much as "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go." The main difference is that "Last Christmas" feels limited to being a holiday track.
