I've seen the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas several times, but I don't recall ever listening to just the album on it's own.

I did not realize until now that Danny Elfman is Jack Skellington's singing voice! Amazing. ("Jack's Lament")
I love the various instruments heard throughout "Jack and Sally Montage"
Huh. I don't remember "Closing" in the movie. I like that end though. "Wouldn't you?"

I listened to Fall Out Boy's cover of "What's This?" on YouTube. I like it, but I like the original more.
I listened to the first two minutes of She Wants Revenge's cover of "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" on YouTube. I didn't like it enough to listen to the entire cover.
I listened to Panic! At The Disco!'s cover of "This Is Halloween" on YouTube. I think I like Marilyn Manson's cover more.

Summary:
Despite loving the movie and enjoying the songs within the movie, I found that the songs in this soundtrack album were limited to the Halloween season. In contrast, I could listen to the Moana soundtrack regardless of the time of year.
