First listen.
~Disc 1~
Just an instrumental. ("Sunrise")
Has a Middle-Eastern sound to it (with respect to what I identify as Middle-Eastern via Hollywood movies) ("Church")
Very different. Has a sound clip. Likely the song has a political message. ("Trouble in Town"); I'm not sure how I feel about it. I suppose I respect the experimental nature of it.
Quick turn from previous song. This song is slow and quiet ("Daddy")
Stands for "Wonder of the world | Power of the people" ("WOTW / POTP")
Church theme in "When I Need a Friend"

2: "BrokEn"; "Arabesque";
1: "WOTW / POTP";
0: "Sunrise"; "Church"; "Trouble in Town"; "Daddy"; "When I Need a Friend";

~Disc 2~
"Guns" immediately caught my attention with it's acoustic guitar sound
Piano piece ("بنی آدم")

3: "Cry Cry Cry";
2: "Guns"; "Orphans"; "Old Friends";
1: "بنی آدم"; "Champion of the World";
0: "Èkó"; "Everyday Life";

Summary:
I liked some of the tracks on the album. Unfortunately, the album did not feel cohesive and lacked a consistent musical theme. Personally, I'm a big fan of their older sound and albums - specifically the extent to which they could be heard in their entirety. This album is the opposite of that.

Overall Rating: 3.0/5
Favorite Song: "Cry Cry Cry"

I recently saw an article about the Grammys which got me to looking at the list of nominees. Although it's evident that the Grammys is unfair as an awards show, I think the list of nomininations can be a semi-useful way to find new music. In any case, I was scrolling through nominees for "Album of the Year" and saw Everyday Life. I didn't remember listening to it, but the album cover looked familiar and sure enough I had already listened to it. I suppose this reinforces the 3.0 rating which I had previously assigned.
