*Spotify lists this album as being released in 1947, but research suggests it is a compilation album released in 2003. Not to be confused with the Gene Autry album titled The Original: Gene Autry sings Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer & Other Christmas Favorites (1962).

First listen. Standard (2003 reissue)

3: "Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane)"; "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"; "Frosty the Snowman" (with The Cass County Boys) (78rpm Version); "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town";
2: "He's A Chubby Little Fellow" (Gene Autry & The Pinafores); "Santa, Santa, Santa" (Gene Autry & The Pinafores); "Up On The Housetop (Ho Ho Ho)" (78rpm Version) (with Carl Cotner's Orchestra);
1: "If It Doesn't Snow On Christmas Day" (Gene Autry & The Pinafores); "When Santa Claus Gets Your Letter"; "The Night Before Christmas Song" (with Rosemary Clooney); "Everyone's a Child at Christmas" (Single Version); "I Wish My Mom Would Marry Santa Claus";
0: "The Night Before Christmas (In Texas, That Is)" (with The Cass County Boys); "Where Did My Snowman Go?" (with The Mitchell Choirboys); "Sleigh Bells" (Single Version); "'Round 'Round The Christmas Tree"; "Merry Christmas Waltz"; "You Can See Old Santa Claus (When You Find Him In Your Heart)" (78rpm Version)

I liked the first half of the album more than the second half of the album. I suppose the first half would be a 4.6 and the second half would be a 3.0 which technically averages out to be 3.8. However, I didn't design this rating system to necessarily determine album ratings as such. Perhaps I will give it a 3.4.

Overall Rating: 3.4/5
Favorite Song: "Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane)"
