First listen. Deluxe Edition.
This duet with Mariah Carey doesn't compare with the original, but it was good.
Since the a cappella version of "Fa La La" was good, I listened to the regular track again and moved it from a 0 to a 1.
Songs in bold are the bonus tracks on the deluxe edition.
3: "All I Want For Christmas Is You (SuperFestive!)" (duet with Mariah Carey); "Silent Night";
2: "Only Thing I Ever Get for Christmas"; "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)" (ft. Usher); "Drummer Boy" (ft. Busta Rhymes); "Christmas Eve"; "Christmas Love"; "Fa La La" (a cappella) (ft. Boyz II Men); "Someday At Christmas";
1: "Mistletoe"; "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town"; "Fa La La" (ft. Boyz II Men); "Pray";
0: "All I Want Is You"; "Home This Christmas";
Summary:
I'd have to compliment this album with having some good original holiday songs. I set low expectations for this album and I was surprised. I think this album could grow on me if I listened to it a couple of times. With that being said, I'd currently rate the album at a 4.4.
I think between the two songs rated a "3" I would pick "Silent Night" as my favorite. It was such a peaceful version of "Silent Night."
Overall Rating (Deluxe): 4.4/5
Overall Rating (Standard): 4.0/5
Favorite Song: "Silent Night"
