First listen.
Chick Fillet referenced on "Closed On Sunday."
"God Is" has the strongest feeling out of the songs thus far.
Kenny G's solo in "Use This Gospel" is awesome.

3: "God Is"; "Use This Gospel" (ft. Clipse and Kenny G);
2: "Follow God"; "Closed On Sunday"; "Water" (ft. Ant Clemons); "Hands On" (ft. Fred Hammond);
1: "Every Hour"; "On God"; "Jesus Is Lord";
0: "Selah" (ft. Sunday Service Choir); "Everything We Need" (ft. Ty Dolla $ign and Ant Clemons);

Summary:
I didn't really pay attention to the lyrics. Instead I focused on the melody and general sound of the tracks. In the end, I thought the album was decent - which is a reasonable response considering it was the first time I ever heard any of these songs.

Overall Rating: 3.2/5
Favorite Song: "God Is"

We'll have to wait and see if the album debuts at #1. From what I understand, it's release date means it's first opportunity to appear on the Billboard 200 will be published 20191105 with an issue date of 20191109.

Somewhat expected, the album debuted at #1. However, we'll have to check back again in a few weeks to see how it fairs against Post Malone's Hollywood's Bleeding.

#1 on the Billboard 200 (Week of 20191109).

As a quick follow-up, the album didn't last more than one week at #1 against Post Malone's Hollywood's Bleeding. My gut would tell me that this will be the case for several albums which will grab a #1 spot at their debut, but not display the consistency versus another hotter album to retain the #1 spot. In this case, the consistently strong Hollywood's Bleeding is the album to beat. With that being said, JESUS IS KING does manage to reside at the #2 spot.

In general, I find the concept of the Billboard 200 interesting. In particular, there is too much hype around debuting at #1. As a consumer of music, I don't care if an album debuts at #1. I'm a bigger fan of consistency. On a related note, I've done some digging into the data but haven't put enough time into unraveling key patterns. My desire is to use the Billboard 200 and cluster albums by their chart patterns in hopes of discovering at least three or four clusters: consistently hot selling albums (e.g., remain in top 10 or top 25 for several weeks), short-lived toppers (e.g., one week at #1 and drift off), greatest hits albums, and consistently on the charts.
