First listen.
Actually, I'm not 100% sure that I like "Coffee" as a "4" versus "H.S.K.T." as a "3."
After listening to the album, I listened to "Hey Mami," "H.S.K.T," and "Coffee" again. Between "H.S.K.T." and "Hey Mami," I like "H.S.K.T." more, because "Hey Mami" is too simple. I felt the same held true between "Coffee" and "Hey Mami." As for "H.S.K.T." and "Coffee," I like "H.S.K.T." more, because "Coffee" starts off and stays relatively slow throughout - picking up just ever slightly towards the end. As such, I moved "H.S.K.T." from a "3" to a "4" and moved "Coffee" from a "4" to a "3".
Songs in bold are the bonus tracks on the deluxe edition.
4: "H.S.K.T.";
3: "Coffee";
2: "Hey Mami"; "Play It Right";
1: "Wolf"; "Dress";
0: "Dreamy Bruises"; "Could I Be"; "Uncatena"; "Come Down";
Summary:
I imagine this album would be great for studying and would set itself up well for being remixed. As for the album's rating, I've sort of lost sight on my rating system: I know the album should have a primary rating of 4, but I'm less sure about it's secondary rating. I think it's a really good album that I could potentially listen to from start to finish. I think a 4.6 is appropriate.
Overall Rating: 4.6/5
Favorite Song: "H.S.K.T."

Preparing for Firefly 2015, I listened to the album twice - except for "Wolf" which I only listened to once.
I wrote the following: "[Setlists on setlist.fm suggest the duo performs their] 2014 self-titled album out of order. What a duo! [...] (Maybe Sylvan Esso can be my 2015 equivalent of San Fermin)."
I rated their music (equivalently their album) a 9 out of 10. And a 9.5 out of 10 for how much I wanted to see them perform (8 being "Almost Definitely see" and 10 being "Definitely see"). Unfortunately, they played the same time as Walk the Moon which got a 12 out of 10 and an 11 out of 10, respectively.
3: "Hey Mami"; "Coffee";
2: "Dress";
